“I am so impressed with your dance studio! You are so well organized, and you provide such a loving environment for our dancers to learn and grow. Thanks again. " —Wendi
“My dancer had a wonderful time performing at the recital and our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the entire performance. It was a great experience. Such talented dancers and such a well fun operation! Kudos to you!”

These policies apply to our Sept-May dance season and NOT to our summer dance programs.
Start: Dance classes will begin on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 right after Labor Day AND
will continue through May 2012.
Monthly Dance Payments: Your debit/credit card will be processed on the 20th of each month
for the following month’s tuition. When we receive your registration we will process your
credit/debit card immediately to pay for (1) your registration fee (2) Sept. dance lessons (3)
$35 costume deposit ~ see #8 below. Thereafter, payments will be automatically processed
monthly on the 20th to pay for the following month’s tuition. (On Sept. 20th, cards will be
processed to pay for October dance lessons, on Oct. 20th cards will be processed to pay for
November dance lessons, and so forth, ending on April 20, which pays for May dance lessons.) If
you wish to change to another dance class or to drop a class, we must know by the 15th of the
month, to allow time to change the automatic billing. Change requests received after the 15th
of the month will need to wait until the following month, to change the billing. You may pay by check, but only if you are paying for the entire semester at once (Sept-Dec and/or Jan-May).
Dancer’s Absence & Make-up Classes: No fee adjustment for dancer’s absence. No
make-up classes available for dancer’s absences. Monthly lessons cost remains the
same, regardless if there are 4 lessons in a particular month, or 5 or 3 (depending on
how the month is set up). It all evens out in the end.
Classes Not Held: No classes will be held on major holidays (Labor Day,
Thanksgiving, Christmas). We WILL hold classes on days where there are ½ days of
school, early releases, parent-teacher conferences, school in-service days, etc. Your
monthly newsletter will arrive via email and will specify those holidays when classes
won’t be held. Otherwise, assume classes will he held.
Arrival & Pick-up: Dancers should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to their
class time. After class is over, your dancer will not be supervised. Please pick
her/him up promptly.
If your dancer has a break between dance classes, he/she is welcome to bring a
snack/water and wait in our lobby. Dancer can do homework or watch our dance
videos while waiting.
Last class of the evening: We will wait 10 minutes after class is over, for you to pick
up your dancer. After that time, we will lock up and leave your dancer outside to wait
for you. We don’t want to do that---Please don’t’ make us!!! Studio phone number:
322-8082.
Parents Visiting Class: To be honest, we prefer that parents not visit dance class
because it is so distracting! But, with many of our faculty being parents ourselves, we
understand a parent’s desire to see what’s happening. We ask that no parents visit in
Sept. We have cameras set up in all 3 studios which project onto 3 flat screen TVs in the lobby, so parents can watch their dancers.
After September parents can come into class on only the first lesson of the month, and do NOT bring
other children with you, no exceptions! That’s because it is so distracting for ALL of
the dancers in that class when other, non-dancing children/toddlers/infants are there.
Sibling, friends, etc. will have plenty of opportunities to see your dancer perform at
our recitals.
Class Rules: No gum (can choke). No toys (takes too much time out of class and
distracts dancers). Bring water bottles (no drinking fountain available). Encourage
younger dancers to use the restroom as soon as they arrive at the studio.
Skirts can be worn over leotards, but must be no longer than mid-thigh in length.
Long skirts make it extremely difficult for dance teachers to see dancers’ leg
movements.
Costumes: All performing classes will need one costume. They will wear this SAME
costume for all of our performances during the dance year (Sept.-May). Competition
Dance Teams will purchase at least 2 costumes.
All dancers perform in at least two recitals during the dance year (Sept-May) ~
Christmas Recital and Spring Recital. Exception: dancers who are taking the non-
performing Jazz Technique Classes do NOT need costumes.
For the most part, we order from costume catalogs, rather than having them sewn.
Our costumes are age-appropriate, beautiful, fun, up-to-date, and modest.
In the past, costume prices have been in the $40-$60 range for ages 3-5 and in the
$50-$60 range for ages 6+ with Teens costumes in the $50-$70 range. We do our best
to select reasonably priced costumes that are still delightful to be worn and to be seen
on stage. We want to make it a VERY positive experience for your dancer.
We will be taking your dancer’s measurements during class time, in Sept. We will
order costumes by the end of Sept. Your costume down payment is paid when you
register. The balance of the costume payment will be due in Oct. or Nov.
depending on that specific costume’s delivery time.
Non-performing jazz technique classes will not need costumes.
Performance: We believe in performing! There are so many skills that are learned in
performing, which can’t be duplicated in the dance studio; such as stage presence,
poise, looking forward at the audience rather than at the dancer next to you,
confidence in front of an audience, knowing where you belong in the space of a stage,
working as a group, etc.
Your dancer will perform in two dance recitals: Christmas and Spring (May).
Our competition team dancers will perform in approximately 13 venues ~ BSU and
high school and Idaho Stampede basketball games, Freeze Frame, ISI and PNW (high
school drill team competitions), dance competitions, high school spring shows, conventions and more.
We’re looking forward to a great year!
For your convenience, we will sell reserved seating for our recitals. This will eliminate parents, etc. waiting in long lines at the recitals."
